2 year blogiversary

This week it will be two years since I clicked the publish button on my first blog post. It feels like it has been longer especially because this last year I experienced so much growth in my personal life and through my blog. Since my one year anniversary last year I have transferred my blog from Blogger to WordPress, bought my domain name, collaborated with several companies on blog posts and enjoyed a sponsored luxury stay at a spa resort in Northern Ireland.

Looking back I feel like I have accomplished a lot within the last year mainly because I quit my nine to five job back in spring and for four months I was traveling and had time to focus on my blog. Now that I am back to working full time it will be interesting to see how I balance it all, plus I am in the midst of my yoga teacher training (update coming soon!). What my blog has taught me this past year though is how to manage my time and what to prioritize on my to-do list. Juggling so many passions can be overwhelming at times but I love putting together posts and letting my creativity flow.

Last anniversary I talked about how I found my niche in the blog world, this past year I have started to connect with more bloggers. Whether it’s through my blog or Instagram I feel like my following has become more personal. I know what adventures some of my blogger friends are up and it’s fun following along. I have also have a larger following and this has been humbling seeing how many people visit my blog and read my posts daily.

I’ve noticed a huge change in my writing over the last few months. It definitely feels like it has become easier for me to write and I have found my voice. When I sit down to write a post I become so immersed in what I am writing that after a few minutes I look at the word count and can’t believe how much I have to say. To be honest the writing part was a bit difficult for me at the beginning. Taking time to sit down was always the hardest part but now when I open up a new word document I immediately start typing away.

From the new layout to upcoming collaborations and travels, I love where my blog is today. Thank you to all my readers who have made my blog possible, those of you who leave thoughtful comments and read my posts all the way through. There are so many adventures I can’t wait to share with you!

  1. YAY! Ben was telling me that he saw this on your Instagram post :). Such a big milestone! One of the things I love most about the blogging community is the people it brings together. We absolutely love reading your posts and I’m so excited to see how much you have to share from the teacher training.
We’d love to both take some serious time off of work to just wander, explore, and travel. Hopefully someday you’ll be reading about those adventures haha.
    Congrats girl!

    1. Thank you Susie =o) I have loved reading your blog as well! It really is incredible to see how friendly the blogging world is. At first I was hesitant about sharing about my life. There have been some amazing people (like you and Ben) who have beautiful stories to tell and have taught me new things that have made it fun to share my interests and passions with

  2. First of all: Congratulations! Not many bloggers keep pushing through the hard times and keep working on what they love. It’s always great reading about other’s experiences. I hope I’ll be able to read your blog many years into the future!

  3. you have mirrored a lot of my thoughts on blogging. I’ve been blogging four years now, but initially it was only as a means of informing friends and family where we were, and what we were doing. It’s only in the past year or so that I’ve started connecting with other bloggers – and since then, wow!! It’s changed from being virtually a bulk email to friends and family, to something that inspires us to get out to see what’s there, and to experience life to fullest. It’s become our favourite hobby, with me writing and Paul doing the photography.
You write a very good blog, and I always love my alert emails telling me another of your good reads is waiting for me. Keep it up.

    1. Thank you for such a beautiful comment Chris, I can’t stop smiling =o) Isn’t the blogging community amazing? In the last year I have learned about so many people’s stories and other parts of the world. There is so much to see and do and especially share because that is how we can educate ourselves more xx
