Cocolit Coconut Charcoal Powder Review and Giveaway!

Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post, I received a Cocolit Activated Charcoal Powder and toothbrush in exchange for writing this review. Although this post is sponsored, all opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting brands I support.

Charcoal is one of the latest trending ingredients found in beauty products. I jumped on the charcoal train earlier this year and now use cleansing charcoal pore strips and a charcoal face mask. I’ve noticed how clear my skin has gotten since using both products and believe it’s the charcoal that is making all the difference. Seeing these results I began my search to find other products that use charcoal and are organic. You can imagine just how excited I was when my childhood friend introduced me to her friend’s company, Cocolit, whose main ingredient is organic activated charcoal.

Cocolit’s flagship product is activated coconut charcoal that naturally whitens your teeth. Made from coconut shells, the fine black powder polishes and whitens using 100% natural ingredients that remove stains and plaque from your teeth. There are only three natural ingredients in the powder. The main one is the activated charcoal powder. This powder changes the pH balance in the mouth which helps prevent cavities, bad breath and disease. The natural adhesive of the charcoal binds the stains and small residue which helps whiten and clear your teeth. Bentonite clay helps to pull out heavy metals and absorb any toxins or impurities. The clay includes calcium, silica and magnesium that help nourish your teeth and are very gentle on the gums. Last but not least there is peppermint oil that is known for its anti-inflammatory and antiseptic abilities. It kills anaerobic bacteria, freshens your breath and is also helpful in preventing gingivitis or inflammation of the gums.

| History and Benefits of using Charcoal |

Charcoal has been used for various medicinal relief throughout centuries and around the world. Both the ancient Egyptians and Native Americans would use it to treat intestinal and digestive issues as well as to heal wounds. The father of medicine, Hippocrates, used it on his patients who were suffering from anemia, epilepsy or poisoning. Today many hospitals continue to use charcoal as a remedy for poisoning and if you suffer from an infection in your intestine or have severe diarrhea you can go to the pharmacy and ask for a charcoal tablet. Using Cocolit’s charcoal powder I can relate the most to the Japanese who have long cherished charcoal as a part of their dental hygiene routine.

The benefits of using charcoal on your teeth: eliminates bad breath, detoxifies your mouth, whitens your teeth naturally and strengthens your gums and enamel.

Within a few hours of placing my order I received a confirmation email saying my Activated Charcoal Powder and toothbrush were on their way! Another great thing about Cocolit is that it has free shipping worldwide.

Once you have your powder make sure you are very careful when opening it because the powder can get a little messy. I recommend having a small towel near you to help clean up any mess.

Step 1: Wet the toothbrush with water.

Step 2: Very lightly dip your toothbrush into the charcoal powder. The 30g container lasts for approximately 120 uses.

Step 3: Brush your teeth for 2-3 minutes. This part can also start to get a bit messy so stay near a sink.

Step 4: Rinse your mouth thoroughly with water. You will spit out a black liquid but don’t worry that’s normal.

Step 5: Smile!!

| Overall Review |

Even after the first use I noticed a huge difference in how white my teeth were and I usually use a big brand whitening toothpaste. I don’t use Cocolit daily but have started to incorporate it into my routine a few times a week. After I finish brushing my teeth with the power they feel smooth and clean like they do after a visit to the dentist. Because this powder is so small none of it gets stuck between your teeth which is nice. The packing is chic and fits in perfectly with my other beauty products. I know I mentioned that Cocolit is owned by my childhood friend’s friend but I’m not playing favorite when I say that I recommend using their product. Cocolit has made a charcoal teeth whitening powder that is natural, organic and beautifully whitens your teeth. I couldn’t be happier with the new charcoal product I have found.

  1. I used to use soot from the chimney when I was teenager as a tooth whitener – it worked brilliantly, and I mean that in the literal sense. My teeth were brilliantly white. Then i using activated charcoal which came in the syrup of ipecac anti poisoning kit – same effect. I recently came across a charcoal teeth whitening product at a local market, but declined to buy it at the time, I don’t know why. Even before reading your article I’d decided that next time I come across it, I’m buying it. I’m not sure if it was the same product, but the packaging looked similar.
